  • "Show Me a Hero," a six-part miniseries based on a non-fiction novel, is a microcosm of the American human rights movement from the 1960s to the 1980s . Amid the biggest wave of civil rights struggles in America in the 1960s, the mayor of a midsize city (Oscar Isaac) receives a federal court order to build low-income homes in white-populated areas of the city. His efforts ripped apart the city, paralyzed the city, and ultimately destroyed the mayor's life and his political career.

The English title of the miniseries is Show Me a Hero, and its subtitle is: How does a politican know he's doing the right thing? We make him pay. (How does a politician know if he is doing the right thing? We make him pay .)

      Gamblers in politics

Based on a non-fiction novel, this story tells the entire process of the construction of low-income housing in a small town, as well as the ups and downs of the young mayor's short-lived political career.

From the court's order, to the city government's acceptance, to the construction, to the acceptance of the entire community, many things are really not as simple as they say. Racial prejudice, personal self-interest, and more, can make this seemingly right thing difficult. Then in...

——————————————There is a risk of spoilers in the film review, please watch with caution—————————————

Anyone who has watched "The Wire" in its entirety, I
believe it will be Admired by the ambition and talent of the main creator, David Simon,
his ability to thread the needle
in it is probably unmatched in the film and television industry.

In his eyes, society is an intertwined organic life, and
      everyone's life is interlinked.
      His multi-line...

Good-looking is good-looking, but lacks depth

First of all, the topic of this play is still as atmospheric as The Wire, focusing on niche, rarely filmed, but important topics such as local politics and desegregation. Secondly, this drama is still like The Wire, which can make such a theme very watchable. In the end, the film is still well-made (and has the cast of O and The Wire).

Although it can be watched, the level of this drama and The Wire is still a lot worse. The tragedy of The Wire stems from...

      David Simon Is The Man

"The Wire" is the best TV show of all time, bar none. In his latest masterpiece, Show Me a Hero, creator David Simon tells a story when ordinary life suddenly changes by chance. When ordinary people accidentally gain power, money and abuse, can he still face it calmly? What kind of impact does the achievement of luck have on our lives? Does the illusion of our own talent and strength make us mistakenly think that we are the hero of that dream? We always want to be better, but we are not...

A very documentary-style gray political drama, the subject matter is unpleasant, but the quality is amazing. The good things brought about by selfishness, the inside story of the intricate democratic process, and the tragic ending all point to positive...

An individual goes from obeying orders to doing his best to stepping down quickly to preparing for re-appointment to obsessed to being tricked into suicide. Seeing the solidarity of the black community and not forgetting the original intention, I am very moved, that kind of spirit. Discrimination may not go away, but someone is willing to take a look at the white community administrator on the other side of life, and every aspect is important. (Fast forward, the last two episodes were...

very nice. Although it is a political story, it is not entangled in the game and shady scenes of the power center. As the main line continues to advance, it begins to tell several stories of civilians. Both sides have it. The changes in their mentality and situation are very well reflected, and it also shows that How the formulation of the policy entered thousands of households. Nick really is. . . . . . . It was really sad to see him linger in the last...
