      That inspirational face

"In My Heart" tells the story of the American heroine who lost her husband during the Great Depression, struggling to maintain a family life with almost no money. When the youngest son invited his mother to dance at the dance party, the hostess shared his son’s hand with the wounded hand cut from the cotton. I had tears in my eyes and a mouthful of rice in my mouth and told TN that I would do the same. Mother. TN whited me and said, "You don't need it."

The heroine Sally Field in the...

Places in the Heart: A story full of love and courage

Among the many female-themed films in the 1980s, "Places in the Heart" is undoubtedly one of the best. But when it comes to the name of the film, I believe that most people think of Woody Allen’s tribute to Bergman's masterpiece, and often overlook this unpretentious work. The heroine of the film, Sally Field, won the Oscar for the second time with this film. Sally Field, a popular American mother with an inspirational face, once again created a classic independent and strong mother image for...

      Film study notes

"Knowing the Movie" P65 (panning can often highlight the unity of space and the connection between people and objects in this space. It is precisely because of our expectations that when they break the integrity of this reality, this kind of lens can cause Unexpected result. This movie celebrates a simple Christian value. The final scene connects the world and the underworld. The camera pans along every row of the church in a panoramic view, including some dead characters. This movie The...

      Floral skirt and strong mother

I discovered that floral skirts were so popular in the United States in the 1930s, but they were full of oriental flavors. At the end of the ball, Margaret wore a pink petal chiffon skirt with purple satin silk scarf, which is truly stunning and beautiful. The audience's eyes are probably the same as her husband's, living tightly on this beautiful color and body.
Mrs. Spalding is undoubtedly a strong woman, a strong mother, a strong person, and a kind person.
      The plot of the communion...

    Piercing lens

Continuity: During a storm, Frank stopped to look at the homeless woman, his top button.
Anachronism: The time set for the movie is 1935. The entire movie uses glassware from the Great Depression, and most of it is correct. There is a scene where there is a pair of Watford-style salt and pepper mixers on the kitchen stove. This style was produced by Hocking Glass Company (Anchor Hocking) between 1938 and 1944. How could Sally Field have...

    Evaluation action

All the characters in the film including friends and enemies, wives and mistresses, living blacks and dead whites all communicated in the church service. This is a very visual scene, but it is too much for the whole film. Too strong, unable to support such an ending. Because such a scene does not have an accurate narrative to guide it. The story takes place in a farm, not in a town. Although the last scene tries to connect them...

    • [last lines]

Preacher: On the night before His crucifixion, Our Lord gathered with His disciples. He broke the bread, and blessed it, saying: "Take, eat; this is my body." And he took the cup and said: "Drink; this is my blood, which I shed for thee."

      Royce Spalding: Peace of God.

      Wylie: Peace of God.

    • Edna Spalding: [Moze caught with her silver in hand] You ever try and steal anything from me again, I'll shoot you myself, You understand that?
