Philadelphia--Homosexuality Should Also Be Respected
I came into contact with this movie in the English film and television appreciation class not long ago. When the name "Philadelphia Story" was displayed on the screen, my first reaction was that it was an inspirational struggle story similar to "Beijing Youth," but I never expected it to be a homosexual theme. I watched the entire film in the classroom with sixty or so classmates out of curiosity,...

"Philadelphia Story" is almost a follow-up to this year's award-winning hit "Milk Biography." Both films are about gay rights protection, the latter is from a political point of view, and the whole film is about hippies; the former is more from the point of view of ordinary people. Although it is a 1994 film, 15 years later, it is still so moving, and every detail is so brilliant.
Andy, a young lawyer with a thriving career, is accused of poor work and fired by the law firm. He...

Impressed anyway.
The opening scene of Andrew and Joe is inexplicable, and it feels like two people are arguing.
When Andrew ran over to find Joe later, his stubble and shaved head felt a bit like Justin, so he sighed that Hanks was quite handsome when he was young.
After seeing more than half of it, I realized that philadelphia is not the location of u penn. Such a background is also a microcosm of the American legal profession.
Having participated in...

I really didn't expect this to be a movie about homosexuality and AIDS.
The movie is very exciting, and the legal battle between lawyers and law firms is a good subject matter. The wonderful interpretations of Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington are superb interpretation of the theme of the movie "justice".
"I don't identify with homosexuality, and even feel disgusted by homosexuality, but for the sake of justice I will help you in this lawsuit." This voiceover runs through the entire...

From the words Andrew danced to the music after the gay party to the end of the movie is the best part of the movie, suddenly so many kinds of love come together, but very logically - Andrew on Hope Love, love for life, love for his daughter after Miller returned home, love for his wife, love for his career as shown by Andrew in court, love for his friends in the hospital after the trial, love for his family, and finally before Andrew's death Homosexual love...
Since there are so many...

The meaning of this film, based on the first AIDS discrimination case in the United States in 1987, and Tom Hanks' brilliant performance make it an indelible classic, knowing that the film has been truly complete until now. read it. This kind of struggle for my own power and the support and encouragement of the protagonist from my family and friends in the film made me feel moved to the point of tears and blurred my...

I heard that it was a homosexual theme, but it doesn't count. It involves AIDS, homosexual discrimination, and the pursuit of legal rights. Yes, there are not many specific descriptions of homosexuality, only the love between two...

Do gay people want special treatment? I thought about this issue before, but later I felt that because the rights of the majority always exist without fighting for them, and the rights of the minority must be obtained through their own efforts, this does not mean that they want special treatment. Discrimination first, then sensitivity and...
Joe Miller: [while being interviewed by reporters] We're standing here in Philadelphia, the, uh, city of brotherly love, the birthplace of freedom, where the, uh, founding fathers authored the Declaration of Independence, and I don't recall that glorious document saying anything about all straight men are created equal. I believe it says all men are created equal.
Andrew Beckett: [while lying on a hospital bed] What do you call a thousand lawyers chained together at the bottom of the ocean?
Joe Miller: [amused, sitting next to him on the hospital bed] I don't know.
Andrew Beckett: A good start.
Joe Miller: Have you ever felt discriminated against at Wyatt Wheeler?
Anthea Burton: Well, yes.
Joe Miller: In what way?
Anthea Burton: Well, Mr. Wheeler's secretary, Lydia, said that Mr. Wheeler had a problem with my earrings.
Joe Miller: Really?
Anthea Burton: Apparently Mr. Wheeler felt that they were too..."Ethnic" is the word she used. And she told me that he said that he would like it if I wore something a little less garish, a little smaller, and more "American."
Joe Miller: What'd you say?
Anthea Burton: I said my earrings are American. They're African-American.
