I used to be so close to you.

A good cartoon should not only make people laugh, but also make people cry.
Apparently, Mary & Max did it.

The world is getting bigger and smaller, and a journey that used to take months now only takes a few hours.
But the distance between everyone's hearts is getting farther and farther.
No matter how gorgeous, powerful or proud you are to cover it up, it is undeniable.
We are all lonely and inferior.

There are no outliers, only imperfect people

I just finished watching the movie and I'm still excited. I think it may be because of my lack of experience, and I can't fully empathize with some of the scenes in the movie. For example, why did Max break down and become mentally ill because of Mary's letter? For example, why does Max want to cry so much? For example, why did Mary feel so far away from her husband after receiving Max's letter? But a lot of the plot still resonated with me, and I cried so hard that

      Max was an outlier...

There is so one you, there is so one me

The first thing that attracted me to the movie was seeing the voice acting of eric bana and little sunshine. Before watching this movie, I just watched "Sister's Guardian", where Little Sunshine loves to play an eleven-year-old girl. "Sister's Guardian" is adapted from the novel of the same name. Although the clues and endings of the story have changed, as a relatively complete story, with the music and the expressions of the characters, the movie is more moving than the book. What I didn't...

A bottle of tears is just the right time to cry for you

I'm not very fond of typing during the day. There is always the roar of planes across the sky. Disobedient children cry. A group of southerners quarreled in their native dialect from time to time outside the window. They are different from northerners. Maybe they like to convince people with virtue. So arguing for eight hours is not a problem. The results also show winners and losers. Just a hard physical job.
one afternoon. I seriously watched a clay movie without missing a second. Mary...

    Behind the scenes gags

The film is the second animation produced in Australia produced by a stop-motion method. The first is "US$9.99".
The entire cartoon is made from approximately 132,480 independent images, and the crew shared 6 Canon digital cameras to shoot these still images.
All the words in the film--the words that appear in the shop windows on the corner of the street, the words on the signs, the words on the packaging, the words on the beer bottles,...

    Production process

A total of 133 scenes were shot in the film. And use two completely different colors to represent New York and Australia, gray and brown respectively. For clay animation, shooting such a scene is undoubtedly a huge project-everything from deserted islands to chocolate shops must be carefully crafted. For the film crew, the biggest challenge is to "fabricate" the horizon of New York. At the same time, this is also the most...

    Movie quotes

    • Max Jerry Horovitz: [to Mary] Dr. Bernard Hazelhof said if I was on a desert island, then I would have to get used to my own company - just me and the coconuts. He said I would have to accept myself, my warts and all, and that we don't get to choose our warts. They are part of us and we have to live with them. We can, however, choose our friends, and I am glad I have chosen you.

    • Max Jerry Horovitz: [to Mary] You are my best friend. You are my only friend.

    • Ken: Born in a barn in the hills of Boronia, Ralph lived a long life and died of pneumonia.
