A successful case of psychotherapy
I remember seeing on a movie website that this movie was tagged with a sci-fi label, which surprised me and felt a little funny. This movie has nothing to do with science fiction, nothing to do with superpowers, just about love. Even in my opinion, it is a model of successful psychotherapy. The patient was a little boy, and of course the psychologist was David—the father who was so patient and loving that I was jealous.
The cause of the little boy stems from being abandoned by his...

The little boy inside is named Dennis, who thinks he is a child from Mars. He has been hiding in a refrigerator box because he is afraid of the sun; he goes out with a black umbrella, thick sunscreen, and a pair of sunglasses; he wears a weight belt because he is afraid that the earth's gravity is too small. He floats away by himself; is small and often hangs upside down like a bat; he is pale and has a sense of insecurity in his voice; he likes to take pictures and makes it his mission to come...

A little disappointed, but I'm still willing to give it four stars.
I think the charm of soft sci-fi lies in the mysterious atmosphere that blurs the boundary between reality and imagination, making you doubt your existing thinking and judgment, and keep asking if it is possible? is it possible? is it possible?
It's like "This Man From Earth", while you listen to "this man" talk about his experience over the fourteen thousand years, you have a voice in your heart telling you,...

If he is from Mars, where will I be from?
Dennis has to think that he is from Mars, so he rejects the environment on earth and resists people on earth. Is he really from Mars? The film does not give us a final answer. why? Because this is just the best way to escape when you are dissatisfied with the status quo. Is he really weightless? Is he really afraid of the sun? Could he really only eat Martian cookies?
In life, many people will be dissatisfied with the reality and seek a way to balance their inner contradictions. Of...

Confessing Cusack's British gentleman's eyes. I like this movie because of the blandness of treating children. The tutor I just quit was transferred to my roommate, so on the first day he went, we reached a deep consensus on the child's dawdling and wrangling, and we also learned that not every child is as normal as we grow up. In "Unreachable", respect means not treating disabled people as disabled people. "Children on Mars" is probably saying that raising children as children. When we...

Liz: David, you're hysterical.
David: I know. See, everybody says, "Don't be hysterical." But I say, "Why not be hysterical?" Hysterical is the new calm. My wife dies, boom! I go out and I adopt a kid from Neptune. Should I just chill, or should I be hysterical? You tell me. I think hysteria is a way of life. It's a clothing line at least.
Dr. Berg: He probably thinks he's going to float away because he's very smart and he sees that he's living in a world where things and people do disappear.
David: [to Dennis] There's nothing you could do that will change the way I feel about you.
