  • Intermezzo, a type of music, originally refers to the lighthearted comedy performance performed between two acts in opera seria in Italy in the 16th and 17th centuries, and later developed into Italian fun opera . The first Italian opera in history, "The Maid's Lady" (composed by GB Giovanni Battista Pergolesi ), was originally an intermission in his opera seria "Prisoner of Pride" . Later the term "interlude" became a term used for instrumental interludes in operas or other plays, such as the interlude in P. Mascagni Pietro 's one-act opera " Cavalleria rusticana ". The interlude of R. robert schumann and J. Brahms is an independent piano character piece , which means that it is a small piece written on the fly between writing a big piece.
It was developed in Italy in the 18th Century , and appeared between the curtains of the chorus opera , and between the movements and movements of large-scale instrumental works, and the music was shorter. There are two types, one is the opera interlude, developed in the 18th Century; the other is the instrumental interlude, developed in the 19th century, and the music is mostly Variation . There are animations and movies of the same name.

      Quote from George Sadur

This brief review by George Sadur personally feels more readable than the film itself.

The first part of "The Rest Show" combines three or four themes skillfully and rhythmically. It uses a panorama of Paris in a small photo studio set up at the Champs-Élysées in Paris, some columns shaped chimneys and the graceful slow dance of a dancer.
There are brief, entertaining shots of Dadaists, such as Man Ray playing chess with painter Du Xiang, and Picabia and musician Eric Satie...

      the director said

"Interlude" was originally an entertaining show prepared for the interlude of the Dada ballet "Performance Pause". The Swedish Rudolf Demarais Ballet, which performed the dance, invited Dada master Picabia to write the script and paint the set. Picabia, incidentally, drew up a two-page first draft for the show. Rainer Clare, who was first involved in the film industry, was deeply influenced by the avant-garde trend of thought, and chose this script to create his second work - "Interlude"....

      intermission

      1. Audio-visual 1. Using special effects to depict a lot of fantastic pictures, stacking pictures, reversing actions, etc., classic: the boat slides on the eaves 2. Strong reflexivity, such as the introduction of the text at the beginning, and the picture of the last person breaking through the fin 3 . The anti-artistic characteristics of Dadaism, the pursuit of disillusionment, the anti-elegance, the classic: the ballet woman who keeps dancing is actually an uncle with a long beard; the...

      Breathtaking Dadaist film

"Interlude", also known as "Interlude", is a typical Dadaist work. It pursues the realm of unintentional, accidental and random. In this film, a variety of shooting and editing techniques are used: freeze, upgrade, dissolve, rewind and so on. The film uses a lot of unusual shooting angles. It completely abandons the traditional narrative logic. The whole film is confusing, and I can't figure out what it is talking about. But through the back-and-forth cross-cutting and the visual effects...

      out of control

The cannon at the beginning of the film that constantly walks and moves by itself and the slow motion of the two men jumping on both sides of the cannon is very easy to think of the metaphor of male genitalia, and also makes me wonder if Claire is an Arsenal fan... .The disordered pictures in the film are quickly cut to make people feel dizzy. The ballerina wearing a white dress dances continuously. The camera is shot from the bottom of the woman's skirt. Obviously, the...

Dadaism emerged in Europe at the beginning of the twentieth century, and its main characteristics include: pursuit of a sober irrational state, rejection of conventional artistic standards, disillusionment, cynicism, pursuit of unintentional, accidental, and random, and so...

It is unbelievable that a film from nearly a century ago was so bold and dreamy that in the silent era, people were more immersed in the camera, and the music and editing were closely integrated. The puppets with inflatable faces, shaking boxing gloves, and dancing dancer skirts, seem to be the eyes of Degas and the soul of Dali. Bird eggs jumping on fountains, doves flying out of fragments, movies are the most wonderful magic. Funerals, for the dead, what happens behind them is just a show,...
