Noir style film - "Double Indemnity"

Generally considered a qualified noir-style film. It tells the story of an insurance salesman who commits adultery with a woman he fell in love with at first sight and conspires to kill her husband to get a 100,000 bond.

The content is a little old-fashioned today, but the script is very complete and very meaningful. Among them, Patton's reasoning is impressive.
It opens with a man racing wildly on the road. He went back to the company and told the wrongdoing on the telephone. The...

      The most restrained black classic

The god-level classic of film noir, it is said that every shot can be written into a textbook. When I first saw it, I felt that the emotional lines of the characters were handled very modestly. The male protagonist's life and death to the female protagonist and the intertwining of love and hate on the screen were not vigorous enough, but thinking about it, it left more room for imagination. The male protagonist and the good base friend have a strong sense of CP, and the ending of the...

      Delusions continue

Why write a black-and-white film so early, because it doesn't make me look deep. (Do you have any depth in your answer...?)
Seriously, I have always liked to watch early noir films, especially when I was in college, so I can also report some very typical and popular movies. The name is here to shock you, but in fact, I can't quite remember the plot of a large part of the movie now, and there are only a few unforgettable scenes left. Just like I love to look at paintings, there are...

Inadvertently touched history makes it more real

Of course this isn't Sherlock Holmes, so if it had to be labelled as suspenseful, it might disappoint a lot of people. Of course, this is not cheating. Those who want to see Easter eggs and surprises at the end may also be disappointed, but this film is worth watching, completely abandoning the story, what can we see? It was the mature way of life in 1940s America: supermarkets, drinking fountains, office doors with clear glass, sunglasses, disposable drinking glasses and lifts. Who says...

Great noir film in typical Billy Wilder style

A great noir film in typical Billy Wilder style, one of my favorites of Barbara Stanwyck's work. The storyline may not seem brainy enough today, but I just like this style of suspense and realism. I personally think that Barbara Stanwyck is an actress with excellent acting skills and beauty, but it is a pity that she is not well-known among Chinese fans. In "Double Indemnity", she perfectly interprets a femme fatale whose beauty, figure, mind, and wrist are first-class. In fact, this femme...

There is a smell of death in the air of honeysuckle, and the result of the original attempt to double compensation is to pay a double price. When I felt that the whole plan was foolproof, I suddenly felt that it was all flaws from beginning to end, and I gradually couldn't even hear my own footsteps. Am I going to die from the...

not good looking.... . . The main character here speaks so fast. The male lead is always a baby and should sing. But the actor said I LOVE YOU twice to his boss. Always lighting a cigarette or something like yes yes yes~~( ﹁ ﹁ )...

I saw the comment that the heroine's hairstyle looks like a poodle... I even told the ending from the beginning, so I always have a sense of loss that the suspense was solved prematurely, but the lines are so...

    Movie quotes

    • Walter Neff: [Recurring line, spoken several times by both the principal characters Walter Neff and by Phyllis Dietrichson] "Right down the line" or "straight down the line".

    • Walter Neff: You know, about six months ago, a guy slipped on a cake of soap in his bathtub, knocked himself cold, and was drowned. Only, he had accident insurance, so they had an autopsy, and she didn't get away with it

      Phyllis: Who didn't?

Walter Neff: His wife. Then there was the case of the guy who was found shot. His wife said he was cleaning his gun and his stomach got in the way. All she got was a 3-to-10 stretch in Tehachapi

      [a California women's prison]

      Walter Neff: .

Phyllis: [Wearily] Perhaps it was worth it to her.

    • Barton Keyes: Every month, hundreds of claims come to this desk. Some of them are phonies, and I know which ones. How do I know? Because my little man tells me.

      Sam Gorlopis: What "little man"?

Barton Keyes: The little man in here. Every time one of these phonies comes along, it ties knots in my stomach; I can't eat! Yours is one of them Gorlupis - that's how I knew your claim was crooked. So what did I do? I send a tow car over to your garage this afternoon. And they jacked up that burned out truck of yours, And what did they find? They found what was left of a neat pile of shavings.

      Sam Gorlopis: What shavings?

Barton Keyes: The ones you soaked with kerosene and dropped the match on!
