Sometimes being a bad woman is the only lifeline

In my impression, the stories that happened by the sea are either romantic and cheerful, such as "Momo Tea in Summer" many years ago; or gloomy and cold, such as "Manchester by the Sea", which was very popular the year before. This "Frightening Bird" should belong to the latter, but it also gives people a hearty pleasure, and there is no lack of warmth.

Selena once hated and stayed away from her mother for 18 years, because she was suspected of murdering her father, making herself...

Please try to understand those who love you

People really grow up. From the past, I thought it was too good to read the comments. Now I can get rid of some things that are not very meaningful. Pretty good movie, no fancy costumes, big lectures, except for the heroine's sudden change of concept, everything else is fine, life is like this, the beautiful scenes you can see in the circle of friends are the icebergs of life after disguise and modification In one corner, depression and pain are the invisible parts under the water. Kindness...

Women have to learn to do "bad" things

Another perfect collaboration. Casey Bates + Stephen King. Kathy Bates is our love, agree? When she was young, she was boyish, bold but not arrogant. In middle age, she was calm and easy and full of affinity. I especially like to see her smile, the kind of smile that obscures the taste of enmity and hatred. In the movie, the appearance of Aunt Bei (not Aunt Bebe) is a different image from the past. The flustered, helpless, and desolate eyes open up the heroine's tragic life experience. This...

      expected evil

There has never been a shortage of films exploring the suffering of women

      This one is still

Although the author has not encountered such cruel truth

But every emotion feels the same

      Kathy Bates' acting is amazing

The pain to bear, the burst of forbearance

      everything is so smooth

      The most impressive

The hostess went to the bank to question the manager

Why let the husband take the money

Said it wouldn't be the case if it was the other...

      relieved

The camera gradually follows from New York, where Selina is located, to her hometown. She has left her hometown to get rid of the tragedy of her native family-the childhood shadow of being violated by her father and murdered by her mother.

But this is the quagmire in the depths of her spirit that she could never escape, and that accompanied her for the first half of her life. Growing up, she was full of incompatibility and distrust of intimacy.

When she faced the scars and shame...

A movie with no expectations, a dim and low tone, a long and tedious foreshadowing, and intertwined foreshadowing, so that the story ties everything together in less than 20 minutes at the end, creating a very deep impression and resonance. And thinking, involuntarily saw the translated name - tears scars, the injury is obsession (Stephen King's editor, the movie in 1995, really a bit...

A long and depressing narration, only for the final outburst. The seemingly weak heroine is more in line with a woman who grew up in a difficult environment. Also, don't mess with women, a woman who suddenly treats you well may end...

    Movie plot

When the nanny Delores ( Kathy Bates ) was suspected of killing her boss Vera, her daughter Selena ( Jennifer Lee Morrow ), a reporter in New York, reluctantly rushed to the Maine police station to visit My mother, and one of the police officers who handled the case was Selena’s old classmate. When she took her mother out of the police station, passers-by greeted Dolores in explicit language. Did you really kill someone, Delore? Lis...

    Evaluation action

Both the film and the novel directly use the heroine's name as the title of the work. The film is very close to life. In the original novel, John Swithen, who has always been written in standard English, lets the heroine use the vulgar, slang-like and even some grammatically wrong Maine dialect. The narrator's identity and the language habits fit seamlessly. In the original novel, the heroine is manic and violent. In the movie, the...

    Movie quotes

    • Selena St. George: Eighteen years ago, my father drank a bottle of scotch and fell down a well. Detective Mackey didn't think it was an accident, which is... why we're here today.

Det. John Mackey: And what do you think, Selena?

Selena St. George: I think I owe you an apology. I called you a son of a bitch. You said you thought we were a lot alike, and you were right. We both spent the past 18 years prosecuting this woman. We came out here- I know I did- believing she was guilty. We forgot this case is about Vera Donovan. Not my father.

Det. John Mackey: And what if it wasn't an accident?

Selena St. George: Look. It's been 18 years. I don't know what this has done to you, but let me tell you, it's consumed me. I have lived with this every day of my life. Every day. I was wrong and I won't do it anymore. And if I can say that, my God, can't you?

    • Vera Donovan: [while Dolores is crying in front of Vera] I insist that all women who have hysterics in my drawing room call me by my Christian name.

    • Selena St. George: [when getting in the car to leave her mother] I'm sorry, Mother... Sometimes being a bitch is the only thing a woman has to hold onto.
