      Not suitable for Chinese viewing

As a foreigner, it may be difficult for us to feel and understand the mood of Algeria, Morocco and other French colonies fighting for France during World War II and some subsequent historical issues.
There is no grand war scene, no portrayal of sufficient loyalty to the motherland, and no disclosure of human nature in the underground war. . . It feels like a documentary, just to tell you the fact that the Algerians once fought for France. And not being treated fairly, we are dissatisfied!...

      war and humanity

A good war movie reflects something other than a war movie. Just as behind the war are deeper social and political issues. "Glorious Years" has a unique vision, focusing on a group of French colonial Arabs who represented France in World War II. In the past, World War II films tended to focus on criticizing the evil of the Nazis, but it seemed that they rarely mentioned the problems of the anti-fascist country itself. The film deeply reveals the evils of Western democracies, a limited democracy...

      a sly movie

Glorious Years is at the heart of the film about World War II, when the French used soldiers recruited from the colonies to help them fight, put them on the front lines, and leave them behind in history.
Although there are many directors in France who use this theme, the glorious years is the first film to shoot this theme in the way of modern popular movies.
At the beginning of the film, while those production credits were still rolling, director Bouchareb inserted clips from...

Do you feel honored to see it?

It's so ugly, I deleted it immediately after watching it. I used to think that only domestic movies can be made so bad, but now I find that the French can also make them. After watching the movie, I have no respect for the protagonists at all. No matter in terms of fighting will or fighting literacy, they cannot be respected. A group of walking dead and clumsy clowns who fight for no reason! Had a bad fight. Not as good as the Chinese children's group! It means that France cannot be occupied so...

      INDIGÈNES

Among the many bells and whistles of war films, this is the most straightforward film I have ever seen~ Several close-ups fully express the suddenness of death and how people are used to death. With a dark style and vivid themes, they showed cowardice, fear and confusion in the face of war. They could sacrifice their lives for the so-called "motherland", but they could not get fundamental equal rights. The original African soundtrack in the film (that is, a man babbling over there) is pathetic,...

    Movie plot

In 1943, Said ( Jamel Debbouze ) is a young man with a broken arm in a mountain village in Algeria. He is timid and cowardly, but as a member of the French colony, he decides to join the army under the French propaganda offensive and join the liberation of France. He went to World War II to win his own honor; there were more than one North African Arab soldier who enlisted with him at the same time. Yasir ( Samy Naceri ) took his...

    Evaluation action

"A near-great work", the film adopts a narrative angle that French films have never dealt with: from the eyes of four North African foreign legionnaires, looking at the war to liberate the "motherland". This theme actually touched on the subtle emotions hidden in the multi-ethnic integration in French society at that time. For the descendants of the French colonies, what is the real "equality" and "freedom", it is worth to exchange...
