Honestly, I don't think this movie is really about body image. Yes, it is about getting healthier, getting fit, becoming that image you have for yourself. But it is also about living with insecurity, even when times get rough, even when you seem to get over it but inside you still feel it strongly all the damn time. Everything is a reminder and it can hurt so bad.
I actually really understand Brittany. Her good times with good momentum; her bad times - she gets defensive and bitter...

[Film Review] Brittany Runs a Marathon (2019) 6.7/10
A Sundance Audience Award-winning dramedy from the tenderfoot director/writer Paul Downs Colaizzo, with its self-explanatory title, BRITTANY RUNS A MARATHON (about a girl Brittany who decides to run the annul NYC marathon for the first time) is your usual suspects of life-affirming, motivation-inspiring, slight syrupy, pastel-hued chick flick about a thirty-inching girl's endeavor to...

There is such a popcorn movie in the main competition hahaha! But I still love it, and think deeply about the value of fat people being able to live happily, and it is undoubtedly wonderful for a popcorn movie. The laughter is also dense. The most admirable thing is that the actors want to gain weight and lose weight for this...
Owner of Dog-sitting Home: [to Brittany and Jern upon returning and looking around] Did you pieces of shit move into our house?
Brittany: All body types are beautiful.
Doctor Falloway: That's true. And you also want to be... healthy.
Doctor Falloway: For you, I'm worried about fatty liver disease.
Brittany: Oh! Even my liver's fat, huh?
