Boys Don't Cry--A Very Brutal And Realistic Movie

It should have been given five stars, but the plot is too real and cruel.

I don't know if there are people whose psychological quality is good enough to watch it a second time.

They are evil and ugly and have no respect for life.

Transgender: Loneliness is a journey with no return

Watching this movie many years ago, I was attracted by the solitary quality of Bratton played by Swank. Bratton is a gay who was born a girl, but always dresses as a boy, kisses and falls in love with girls. It may be common now, but at the time of the story, it was seen as a gender-blind disease that needed healing. Transgender people are no longer a topic, but the life of transgender people cannot be understood by ordinary people. Bratton is living the life of a transgender person,...

      bluest eyes in texas

"Boys Don't Cry" is unforgettable for many people, because this film is not only about gender, but also about love, loneliness, freedom, hope, youth, bullying and other common human motifs. Escape a life, reinvent a self, experience unfamiliar romance, warm each other in the dark, experience betrayal and death. These events have been imagined or experienced by anyone, and have eternal human power. In a desolate town, the teenager attempts to describe the life in his imagination. He was...

      half moonlight half dark

When John finally went to kill Brandon, the camera shot on Brandon's face. This shot was very meaningful, half moonlight and half dark, the moonlight half face was like her love, and what was hidden in the dark was like her love for My own cognition is helpless and contradictory.

I remember Brandon was in the bar, and when he saw Lanna for the first time, he was deeply attracted by her. Who you are in Lanna was ignored by him, but his eyes seemed to be full of light and fascinated by...

      Don't Cry and Don't bother

The foreplay of the film is very uneventful, so

I watched the first half last night and only watched the second half today.

It seems that the climax of the film is all in the second half.

Instead of being abandoned by Lena, Lena was deeply accepted and loved by Lena, until Buton gave Lena a new life with his life

. To be honest, I disliked Lena more or less from the beginning. Transsexuals are freaks I think so especially when Bouton gets into trouble and...

People who watch it feel uncomfortable. Although it is a good movie, it is too depressing and too painful. And it's a true story, Hilary Swank looks and acts great, even more boyish than the...

    Movie plot

In 1993, a stranger came to Faos City in Nebraska, in the central part of the United States. His appearance broke the tranquility of this small town. Almost everyone who met him was attracted by his innocence, and women frequently expressed their love for him. In the eyes of the locals, he is a lively rebel, a loyal friend and a charming public lover. Although he has become a popular figure in the city and has made friends with many...

    Shooting highlights

In order to prepare for her role, Hilary Swank lived like a man for at least a month, including tying her chest with tight bandages and stuffing socks on the front of her pants, doing exactly the way Brandon Tiner did.
In more than three years, after hundreds of actresses had considered and rejected this role, Hilary Swank won the opportunity to play Brandon Tiner. She told director Kimberly Pierce that just like her character, she was...

    Background creation

On December 31, 1993, an appalling murder occurred in a dilapidated farmhouse on a highway in southeastern Nebraska. This seemingly inexplicable brutal killing quickly brought the true story of the involved person to the surface. In the months after his murder, Brandon Tiner has become a focal point, frequently appearing in articles by crime documentaries, journalists, and feminists.
After five years of concentrated research and...

    Evaluation action

The film's description of the protagonist's personal life is too rough, and the details of the story are told too quickly and somewhat loosely, which has a greater impact and even obscures the initial shock of the film. ("Los Angeles Times" review)
"Boys dont cry" failed to show this subject well. This film is all preaching and lacks excitement. (Review of "Time")
Brandon's story was once a hot topic in countless magazines, and it...

    Movie quotes

    • Dave - Deputy: Miss Brandon? Miss Brandon, we ran your Charles Behrman ID through to the computer, and this is what the Lincoln authorities faxed us over. You tell me.

Brandon: Wow... This Teena chick's pretty messed up.

    • Sheriff: Why do you go hanging out with guys, you being a girl yourself? Why do you go around kissing every girl?

Brandon: I... don't see what this has to do with what had happened.

Sheriff: I'm asking you all these so that when I speak to the jury, they're going to want some answers, so I have to know exactly what is going on. Now, are you going to answer my question or not?

Brandon: I... have a sexual identity crisis.

      Sheriff: You have a what?

Brandon: I have a sexual identity crisis.

    • Brandon: [on Lana] I'm going to ask her to marry me.

Lonny: Before or after your sex-change operation? Before or after you tell her you're a girl?

      Brandon: Shut up!
