break free from the chains of desire
"Black Snake Moan" is a film full of repression and indulgence, and at the same time initiates a soul redemption with consistent blues music with distinct Memphis regional characteristics. Everything in the film is melted by the rhythm of the blues, from the chains to the inexorable humanity.
Perhaps if you have seen director Craig Brewer's 2005 film "Hustle & Flow", which also uses Memphis music as the soul of the film, you will understand the weirdness and depth of "Black Snake...

After reading the synopsis, plus I like Ritchie very much, I am full of expectations for this film. But when I saw the middle section, I started to feel a little disappointed.
The mutual redemption between a nympho girl and a frustrated old man, coupled with the unusual method of being imprisoned by iron chains, makes the introduction look very attractive. But the whole movie didn't keep me hooked. The strongest feeling is that the film is not strong enough. Whether it's the old black...

The earliest impression of Samuel Jackson came from Quentin's Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. I always thought that his acting skills were quite good. I didn't expect his singing skills to be top-notch. Well, after a long time of nonsense, let’s get down to business and talk about the film itself.
As far as I can see, the whole film is actually a story about redemption, the self-redemption of the black blues musician Lazarus, the redemption of Lazarus to the girl Ley who was sexually...

From the beginning to the end, it seems obvious that the director lacks the grasp of the relationship between the whole and the details. Many parts of the story are not clearly explained, and the three redemptions do not have a gradual and understandable process. The whole movie seems to be too much in pursuit of noir, visual and psychological impact, but ignores the film and the story itself.
Christina Ricci's performance is still the same, and when I watch it, I can't stop thinking of...

"I think people think of heaven too beautifully, like a tempting buffet in the clouds. People follow the rules, thinking that they will be able to eat behind the gates of heaven. I have sin in my heart, evil in the world, and when no one helps me, I Then I talk to God. I seek strength, I seek forgiveness, not the ultimate peace of dying, nor the satisfaction of doing good deeds, but heaven, right...

The first half is dirty and sexy, and the second half swerves into a redemptive tale of nothing new, and while all the preaching seems genuinely sincere, when you find that dirty wildness is destined to be slapped with an Acura-style religious lyricism Instead, the viewing interest will gradually...
