      Bao--A Story about Chinese-style Family

Every Oscar nomination is not in vain, and this "Baby Bao" can prove it. The core of this short film is to demonstrate a Chinese-style family. A Chinese family consists of a missing father, a devoted mother, and an out-of-control son. Briefly explain the synopsis of the story: Her mother cooked breakfast skillfully, and her father hurried to work after eating, leaving her alone at home. While eating...

      nowhere love

The protagonist of this animated short film is a Chinese-Canadian empty-nest mother. When her son grows up, he is no longer close to his mother, and even has a lot of estrangement. After getting married, he has to leave his mother. Obviously, the mother cannot accept this reality. In the short film, the mother eats Many viewers find Bao Baobao's plot to be unbelievable and too terrifying, but I think this is the kind of "love that can't be placed anywhere" that the film wants to express....

      Daddy's cooking

One weekday afternoon, my mother sent me a WeChat message: "Son, are you still working overtime today?" I didn't care too much, and replied, "I shouldn't." My mother immediately asked, "Are you coming back for dinner? Come to my house. Let's eat."

This question made me a little nervous. I thought that when I usually go back to my parents' house to eat on weekends, why are you asking me today?...

      love or investment

Two days ago, because of the topic of school discussion, I asked my mother a question, I asked her, why did you give birth to me? She said, raising children to prevent old age. Oh, so I'm just a cold item in your eyes. Sometimes I feel like my parents love me, but sometimes I wonder why they should love me, is it out of a sense of responsibility or just to tie me down and control me. After watching the movie Bao Baobao, I can't help but start to sigh about the parent-child relationship in...

Although it is very short, it powerfully expresses the Chinese-style mother's desire to control her children and the Chinese-style father's laziness and inaction. The plot of the mother swallowing the baby in one bite is very shocking. , The picture of parents, son and daughter-in-law making steamed buns together is warm, but I feel a little...

This work is not good. After reading it, it is unclear whether the director's focus is to criticize the abnormal psychology of the Chinese mother's "son is my whole world" or to praise the Chinese family philosophy that the family has reached a reconciliation and is...

    Origin of creation

Domee Shi said that the English name of "Bao", "Bao", has two meanings: not only refers to the Chinese food "buns", but also refers to the "treasure" in the hearts of parents - children   . The inspiration for the film stems from her experience growing up as an only child under the meticulous care of her parents   . Domee Shi was born in China, moved to Canada with his parents as a child, and grew up in Toronto   . Growing up, she...

    Evaluation action

"Bao" uses metaphors to describe a typical Chinese-style parent-child relationship, but it is commendable to tell the story with a modern and international perspective, and to internalize Chinese culture into a sincere emotion and contemporary reflection. Chinese style animation is not only beautiful and retro, this short animation is worth learning from the modernity of Chinese cultural elements   . (Judge Yuan Mei, Shanghai...
