Synopsis: Janet lives in a single-parent family: Mother Marty is a rock singer and her sister Laura. The three didn't have a good relationship. One day after a crazy quarrel, Janet moved out of the house and rented an apartment in the city. This apartment is on the 13th floor, located in a more depressing area of Detroit. The house number is 1303. Soon after moving in, Janet’s new neighbor, 9-year-old Emily, told her that the girl who used to live here was Jennifer. She jumped off the balcony and committed suicide. When Janette was cleaning the room, something strange happened. The next day, a colleague found that Janet was hurt all over, thinking that Janet’s boyfriend Mark must be related to this. Janet firmly denied it and said that she must be sleepwalking. One night, Janet witnessed a robbery in the convenience store downstairs of the apartment. Mark came to comfort her when he found out. That night, Janet was awakened, and she found that Mark had gone. Suddenly, a powerful force pushed her out of the bedroom and dragged her to the balcony abruptly. The door to the balcony opened and Janet was pushed down. She clung to the railing tightly and shouted for help, but eventually fell to her death. A few days later, Laura came to 1303 to clean up Janet’s belongings. She also experienced one by one supernatural events...

I looked at the 2013 US version first, but after reading the Internet search materials, I found out that Japan had made a film with the same name in 2007. In order to identify the difference between the two films, I specially found the Japanese version of "Room 1303" today. "Watched it again. The conclusion is that the US version 1303 is an out-and-out remake of the Japanese version 1303, with a plot similarity of 90%.
