Tampering with the ending falls short
In the past, I have always been opposed to very old movies, because the pictures are simple, the technology is backward, the performances are exaggerated and so on. But as the number of films watched grew, I found that old films had their own charm. The rudimentary picture reflects other features of the film, such as the careful staging and editing, which are increasingly mediocre in contemporary films that focus too much on visual effects. The 1945 version of "No Survival" has a stage-like...

No One Survives is one of Agatha Christie's most famous works, topping multiple rankings.
Eight people who did not know each other were invited by the wealthy Mr. Owen to a private villa on Indian Island, and they were only received by the housekeeper and his wife. After dinner, a mysterious voice unravels the horrific secrets that people have hidden in their hearts: All ten are accused of murder. That night, the young Mr. Marston died mysteriously. The ancient nursery rhyme shrouded... -

Following the momentum of last week, I dug out Agatha Christie's "No One Survives" and revisited it. When I read it, all that came to my mind were the pale yellow images of the BBC drama.
The words added flesh and blood to the imagination, so I saw the ten guests with different thoughts boarding the same way, suspicious of each other on the island, killing each other, I saw the fear and guilt tear off everyone's mask, revealing Their ugly souls.
When the shadow of death is suppressed... -

Looking back on the 1945 version of "No Survivor", I have to admire the imagination of the suspense master Agatha, who created a murder case in which everyone was suspicious and deduced in turn, and the individual suspects suddenly approached and died immediately.
"10 little black Indians" correspond to 10 protagonists, the song implies destiny,...

[Film Review] And Then There Were None (1945) 6.7/10
French filmmaker René Clair's last Hollywood fare during his American exile period (1941-1946, four features made for four different studios), this adaptation of Agatha Christie's well-known murder mystery TEN LITTLE INDIANS, seizes on the novel's intriguing premise, corrals a posse of 10 sinners on a secluded British island, where divine justice awaits for them.
Clair intentionally defuses...

I was almost scared to death when I saw the last few minutes, and I couldn't guess the real culprit until the last minute, too nb! I think the most suspicious two survived, hoho. Fall down under grandma's skirt, and have the opportunity to read the original novel and have fun! This is simply the classic template for all subsequent horror and suspense movies. What is Far Cry, please close your eyes and imitate Grandma's...

It's been a long time since I couldn't find a good quality version, and this movie has become the worst picture quality I've ever seen. It is also a black and white film in the 1940s. When Hitchcock made "Butterfly Dream" in 1940, the light and shadow effects were much better than this. The story of the film is not as fascinating as expected. The nursery rhyme of ten little black Indians is so bloody!...
