      Worth a look

Jews in Eastern Europe all speak Yiddish, which is basically a German dialect. The further east you go, the more Polish, White, Russian, Ukrainian, and Russian seem to be in the language. It sounds like German at the beginning. I don’t know if it is true. Yiddish. If so, it's really difficult. It is estimated that Seth Rogen should not speak Yiddish, and can only learn some now.

Jews and Cossacks really have a bloody feud. In the film, the hatred of...

After laughing, you can still think about it

Some movies with dark humor and some jokes. After laughing, I found that there is still some depth. In fact, it is still a good movie, not just to pass the time.

In the beginning, a grilled fish (perhaps salted fish) promoted the love between the great-grandfather and the old couple. The wishes of the old couple are that one can afford a cemetery and the other can afford soda. Really simple. . . . . . So down-to-earth.

      Flatten mooncakes into flat cakes

The material in HBO's new movie "An American Pickle" is only enough to make a mooncake, but it was abruptly spread out into a large cake, so there were loopholes in many places, and it was impossible to maintain the integrity of the shape. The film seeks to find the connection between the first-generation Jews who immigrated to New York from Eastern Europe in the early 20th century and the fourth-generation Jews living in Brooklyn in the early 2000s, the story's main...

A bit of a deep crossing

First of all, this is a time-travel film. There is no doubt that he has the funny elements that must be found in time-travel films.

Secondly, he and other time-travel films only consider jokes or the incongruity of front and back, he describes a little bit of inheritance and family affection.

First, let’s talk about inheritance. For example, the old man will talk about my family and my descendants. Unfortunately, his grandchildren have...

Indeed, as many people have commented, the idea is very good, and the handling is too simple. As a Canadian of Jewish descent, this is also a trace back to Seth Rogen. I don't know how many people understand the irony of all kinds of rotten political...

Mixing several elements that seem to be "incompatible" into a film with a simple statement... Some scenes are designed to make people laugh, and some make people feel a little warm. Just speaking from a comedy point of view, the so-called political and social issues, let the experts and politicians worry about...

Yun Ni took the feud of the vodka Cossacks, the history of fresh rain pickled cucumbers, the contemporary American imperial Internet communication exam, the story is very general, but it is not bad to spoof Eastern European customs and family...

Magical crossing settings. Ironically, of course. Don't want to eat kimchi but want to press the sparkling water button. There are so-called rules for surfing the Internet these days. Seth Rogen turned out to be a Canadian...

    Movie plot

In 1920, laborer Herschel Greenbaum ( Seth Aaron Rogen ) , an immigrant to the United States, accidentally fell into a jar of pickles, which were marinated for a hundred years, maintaining their perfect shape. One hundred years later, Greenbaum woke up in Brooklyn, New York, not a little old. He goes to find his family, only to find that only great-grandson Ben Greenbaum ( Seth Aaron Rogen ) remains. Ben Greenbaum is a mild-mannered...

    Evaluation action

Filled with dialogue and conflict between past and present, An American Pickle features two characters from different eras, and through Seth Aaron Rogen's performance, the film has expressed its theme. The main conflict of the film is the double performance of Seth Aaron Rogen, both of which are vivid and dramatic.
The film might be seen as the self-ripping dream of a successful writer who examines his own life and wonders what his...

    • [last lines]

      Herschel Greenbaum: We pray now.

[Ben nods. Hershel looks at him, quizzically]

      Herschel Greenbaum: You don't mind?

      Ben Greenbaum: I don't mind.

    • Scientist: Essentially, the pickle brine preserved him perfectly. It's been 100 years but he hasn't aged a day.

      Reporter: That's impossible.

Second Reporter: You don't honesty expect us to buy that, do you?

Third Reporter: What's the science behind it?

      Scientist: Please, let me explain.

Herschel Greenbaum: [voiceover] The scientist explains. His logic is good. It satisfies everyone.

      Reporter: Oh, yes.

      Second Reporter: Makes sense.

      Second Reporter: Absolutely.

      Third Reporter: Very clear.

    • Herschel Greenbaum: I cannot afford workers.

      Kevin: You could get interns!
