It was boring at the beginning, but after watching it, the second half is very good, especially the last talk show is really funny. A satirical and a bit sad story, but from another angle, it is an inspirational film. I really envy and admire the...

It can be seen as a comedy version of "Taxi Driver" by Martin Scorsese, all of which are absurd counterattacks of little people, and the film uses a lot of seamless fantasy scenarios. De Niro's last talk show was designed very well. It was presented in the form of live TV. It was a pseudo-documentary style. The jokes in it were actually portrayals of his childhood. It was a playful way to show how this little guy got to such a point. Ridiculously sad. "Better to be the king of the night than to...

8.5 The "success" history of the little people destroyed by society, it is obvious that many of the irrationality of the plot arrangement and the exaggerated style of the actors' performances are intended to correspond to the talk show, full of comedy effects, and it is precisely because of this that the intensity of irony is magnified. Darkness and absurdity are evident. The parallel editing of fantasy and reality is interspersed many times in the film, making every special event in the film...

8.7 Entertaining to the death, in order to become famous as a kidnapper, even a criminal can still become a successful person after becoming famous. Extremely ironic, it seems to be an inspirational story about the journey to success, but the journey to success makes that ridiculous era more ridiculous than it is. Said to be satirizing the United States at that time, in fact, it is not satirizing the current "Internet celebrity" ecology. De Niro's acting skills I have been impressed with, full...

Until his solo show aired, I was always on Jerry's side and thought he was an arrogant person, and of course I was curious about what he was talking about. The movie kept this suspense until the end. After watching his show, the audience suddenly stood on his side, because those jokes were really good (at least much better than the current "Talk Show King") ), and the ending is even more sublime. I would rather go to jail and give myself a chance to perform. Behind the madness is a sincere love...

The idea is very good, but it didn't shoot well. Cinematography and editing are abysmal. But the idea is brilliant. It's just that there is no good balance between the expressions of plastic art and the methods of realism. Don't be too loose, the light is too broken. Scorsese mimics a day in the life of a firefighter without the...

85/100, the more absurd the story goes, the more real it seems to be in this era of entertainment to death. But what it can convey is not only the indictment or thinking about entertainment, but also the insurmountable insurmountability of a certain class barrier. The highlights of this work are not exposed too much, but through Martin's precise emotional control, a variety of emotional transformations are quietly...

"Better to be king for a night than schmuck for a lifetime" As a fan who is used to seeing De Niro's gangster screen image, Lao Luo's appearance in the film is not pleasing, so I made up for this film after watching The Joker , I just want to sigh that a good film can't look good, except for the lack of audio-visual presentation caused by the age, I like the story of the King of Comedy more than the clown. It is also the cry of the bottom and the irony of the elite. The King of Comedy did not...

Rupert Pupkin: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Let me introduce myself. My name is Rupert Pupkin. I was born in Clifton, New Jersey... which was not at that time a federal offense. Is there anyone here from Clifton? Oh, good. We can all relax now. I'd like to begin by saying... my parents were too poor to afford me a childhood. But the fact is that... no one is allowed to be too poor in Clifton. Once you fall below a certain level... they exile you to Passaic. My parents did put the first two down payments on my childhood. Don't get me wrong, but they did also return me to the hospital as defective. But, like everyone else I grew up in large part thanks to my mother. If she were only here today... I'd say, "Hey, ma, what are you doing here? You've been dead for nine years!" But seriously, you should've seen my mother. She was wonderful. Blonde, beautiful, intelligent, alcoholic. We used to drink milk together after school. Mine was homogenized. Hers was loaded. Once they picked her up for speeding. They clocked her doing 55. All right, but in our garage? And when they tested her... they found out that her alcohol had 2% blood. Ah, but we used to joke together, mom and me... until the tears would stroll down her face... and she would throw up! Yeah, and who would clean it up? Not dad. He was too busy down at O'Grady's... throwing up on his own. Yeah. In fact, until I was 13 I thought throwing up was a sign of maturity. While the other kids were off in the woods sneaking cigarettes... I was hiding behind the house with my fingers down my throat. The only problem was I never got anywhere... until one day my father caught me. Just as he was giving me a final kick in the stomach for luck... I managed to heave all over his new shoes! "That's it", I thought. "I've made it. I'm finally a man!" But as it turned out, I was wrong. That was the only attention my father ever gave me. Yeah, he was usually too busy out in the park playing ball with my sister Rose. But today, I must say thanks to those many hours of practice my sister Rose has grown into a fine man. Me, I wasn't especially interested in athletics. The only exercise I ever got was when the other kids picked on me. Yeah, they used to beat me up once a week... usually Tuesday. And after a while the school worked it into the curriculum. And if you knocked me out, you got extra credit. There was this one kid, poor kid... he was afraid of me. I used to tell him..."Hit me, hit me. What's the matter with you? Don't you want to graduate?" Hey, I was the youngest kid in the history of the school to graduate in traction. But, you know, my only real interest right from the beginning, was show business. Even as a young man, I began at the very top collecting autographs. Now, a lot of you are probably wondering... why Jerry isn't with us tonight. Well, I'll tell you. The fact is he's tied up. I'm the one who tied him. Well, I know you think I'm joking... but, believe me, that's the only way... I could break into show business... by hijacking Jerry Langford. Right now, Jerry is strapped to a chair... somewhere in the middle of the city. Go ahead, laugh. Thank you. I appreciate it. But the fact is, I'm here. Now, tomorrow you'll know I wasn't kidding... and you'll think I was crazy. But, look, I figure it this way. Better to be king for a night than schmuck for a lifetime. Thank you. Thank you.

Secretary: Is Mr. Langford expecting you?
Rupert Pupkin: Yes, I don't think he is.
