The strange beauty of the fog, the undead with fish hooks in the fog, or the unsettling opening of a bonfire story are all wonderful; Jamie Lee Curtis's character's only function to hitch a ride to this town is probably to scream... (Scream Queen ㄏㄏ) Rare mother-daughter...

The silent sea level floated like a mist of white fingers, passing through the streets and the cracks in the door, and the final killer was the iron hook. The 2K digitally restored version is too beautiful, and the texture of the ocean in the night on the screen is clearer, gently touching my deep-sea fear. Hitchcock, Spielberg, and Parma should pat Carpenter on the shoulder and say that you have learned very well. This movie is simply a homework on "How to Use McGoffin", making it an extremely...

The atmosphere of supernatural power is very good: the strange death on the fishing boat, the night scene of the American unmanned town. It's a pity that when the truth is revealed, there is no room for improvement. It's a great lighthouse for a radio station, but the steep, long, open-air steps to go to work in the event of a storm can be hard...

Carpenter's atmosphere-building skills are far superior to his story, especially when the momentum is at its peak, it's ridiculous to end it in a hurry. But at least he can always grasp the line of sight at the beginning, so I still like this director with an extremely strong...

The story is simple, but the Carpenter touch guarantees visibility, and the religious elements also enrich the old stalk of grievances. In the whole process: Another horror film that opens with Edgar Allan Poe, saying that I also really want to see Peter Weir make this story; The Blob feels like it imitates a lot of this, the classic format of a small town disaster film; On the top of the lighthouse What kind of a dream job is the radio DJ; Janet Leigh's role is very funny, but unfortunately...

The Fog quotes

  • Mr. Machen: 11:55, almost midnight. Enough time for one more story. One more story before 12:00, just to keep us warm. In five minutes, it will be the 21st of April. One hundred years ago on the 21st of April, out in the waters around Spivey Point, a small clipper ship drew toward land. Suddenly, out of the night, the fog rolled in. For a moment, they could see nothing, not a foot in front of them. Then, they saw a light. By God, it was a fire burning on the shore, strong enough to penetrate the swirling mist. They steered a course toward the light. But it was a campfire, like this one. The ship crashed against the rocks, the hull sheared in two, masts snapped like a twig. The wreckage sank, with all the men aboard. At the bottom of the sea, lay the Elizabeth Dane, with her crew, their lungs filled with salt water, their eyes open, staring to the darkness. And above, as suddenly as it come, the fog lifted, receded back across the ocean and never came again. But it is told by the fishermen, and their fathers and grandfathers, that when the fog returns to Antonio Bay, the men at the bottom of the sea, out in the water by Spivey Point will rise up and search for the campfire that led them to their dark, icy death.

    [bells ring distantly]

Mr. Machen: 12:00, the 21st of April.

  • [the pathologist, Dr. Phibes, has just examined the body of Dick Baxter]

Dr. Phibes: What the hell happened out there?

Nick Castle: There was rust all over everything. It was like the boat had been out there a long time, taking on water. He was down below, near the bunks.

Dr. Phibes: Nick, his wounds are covered with algae, his lungs are full, and there's silt under his fingernails. I tell ya, I saw Dick Baxter three days ago in Salinas. Now he's lying there on the table looking like he's been underwater for a month!
