On the time scale, the film is at the junction of the AIDS pandemic in the 1980s and the rise of the international gay movement in the 1990s. It can be said that the historical value is quite high. The lifestyles and attitudes of this group of people, their choices and their expectations, not only represent individuals, but also represent the characteristics of the times experienced by sexual minorities. This kind of reckless freedom and indulgent burning at the cost of life is really...

From "Pose", it lives up to its reputation. The movie records the brightest side of the underground drag group, and their actual fate is unfortunate in its own way. Trying to integrate into the mainstream group's pursuit of identity through cross-dressing, but wrapped in the contemporary American dream with material desire and fame and fortune as the background, the perception is complicated. However, it is enviable that different minorities have the opportunity to establish their own real...

I forgot when I saw it last time, I felt a little confused and very unrelatable at that time, the two brightly smiling little boys at midnight on the streets of New York were the only part that impressed me after watching it. Now look at how many gay culture references are derived from this, like you went to a party 30 years ago, and they sat in front of you with style and talked about it. The revolution of the trend and the vanguard is always the rise of the misfits, and what they want is so...

And when it comes to the minorities; especially black - we as a people, for the past 400 years - is the greatest example of behavior modification in the history of civilization. We have had everything taken away from us, and yet we have all learned how to...

Rough Shots True Words Black Gay Crossdressing Prom Women The only thing missing from the film is the white male being a black gay one black gay one black gay crossdressing queen is the most marginalized group in society. Of course there are immigrants, refugees... Queer is cool because they are the most excluded, but they also carry the most profound meaning. Represents too many of those neglected words. They have the same simple needs and desires as anyone, economy, class, race, sexuality,...

Documentaries similar to "Kill Matt I Love You" are also for the grouping of marginalized groups, but they are much richer than Kill Matt's culture, and even derived a type of...

Under the difficult initial setting of life, the things we are accustomed to are luxury in their eyes. The flamboyant and enthusiastic attitude to life is manifested in the masquerade ball in the balls. When we embraced our dreams together, the little girl who was wearing a white wedding dress and held a wedding in the church was murdered. The voice of...

About the New York "Masquerade" culture in the mid to late 1980s and the African and Hispanic gays, cross-dressers and transgenders immersed in it. He has won numerous awards at international film festivals and has become an important text for the study of American race, gender/sexuality, and class. It also caused controversy. It was believed that white directors exploited the interviewees and showed spectacles to the audience, gaining both fame and fortune, while the interviewees were still...

I would say that lgbt research in the US is much more complicated than in China...they have to consider other identities besides gender identity...In China, a gay will only say he/she is gay. But in America, it might be, "I'm a black lesbian." In short, it will be related to issues of feminism, race,...

Dorian Corey: I always had hopes of being a big star. But as you get older, you aim a little lower. Everybody wants to make an impression, some mark upon the world. Then you think, you've made a mark on the world if you just get through it, and a few people remember your name. Then you've left a mark. You don't have to bend the whole world. I think it's better to just enjoy it. Pay your dues, and just enjoy it. If you shoot an arrow and it goes real high, hooray for you.

Pepper LaBeija: This is white America. Any other nationality that is not of the white set, knows this and accepts this till the day they die. That is everybody's dream and ambition as a minority - to live and look as well as a white person. It is pictured as being in America. Every media you have; from TV to magazines, to movies, to films... I mean, the biggest thing that minority watches is what? "Dynasty" and "The Colbys". Umm, "All My Children" - the soap operas. Everybody has a million-dollar bracket. When they showing you a commercial from Honey Grahams to Crest, or Lestoil or Pine-sol - everybody's in their own home. The little kids for Fisher Price toys; they're not in no concrete playground. They're riding around the lawn. The pool is in the back. This is white America. And when it comes to the minorities; especially black - we as a people, for the past 400 years - is the greatest example of behavior modification in the history of civilization. We have had everything taken away from us, and yet we have all learned how to survive. That is why, in the ballroom circuit, it is so obvious that if you have captured the great white way of living, or looking, or dressing, or speaking - you is a marvel.
