Good movie. As a journalist, you should have such an attitude. It is inevitable to pay a price for your own...

Kate Beckinsale is amazing, and she does a great job... Maybe some people will think that the ending is a failure, and finally finding out that it is the little girl will seem that Rachel's insistence is meaningless, but the opposite. Come here, it is precisely because of this that Rachel's principles as a professional reporter should be highlighted. If that intelligence provider is in what...

The immunity of testifying is not a challenge to the principle of judicial justice, but a reminder of the fact that human judgments and courts are only the passing line of justice, not justice...

Kate Beckinsale and Vera Farmiga are two of my favorite actresses, with a gripping plot, a somewhat unexpected ending, intriguing, thought-provoking, and one of the must-see movies for...

Compared to the ups and downs of the story, the movie seems gorgeous. An individual, especially a female reporter, is how easily his life can be destroyed and how easily his energy is consumed in the face of power; the resistance of daily life is easier said than done. ps1. Your partner must have the same values, otherwise you can't really hurt; 2. Alan in "The White House" is the most suitable to play the barrister, someone with a presidential image!...

You can't even do ZF, that is, the journalists of the US imperialists under the protection of many democracy and freedom. When the time passes, the enthusiasm of the people fades, and you will only be forgotten, rotten, and collapsed. Of course, there may be worship and sighs of later...

"A man left his family to go to prison to protect the principles, and they named a public holiday after him; a man left his children to fight a war, and they erected a monument to him. A woman did the same. She's a...

The ending makes everything pointless, and protecting the little girl from guilt over her mother's death just needs to keep it a secret from the judge. If you don't know who the informant is, this movie will definitely have four stars. Now I will give it three stars for that...

Personal opinion, don't spray if you don't like it

In the movie, many people went to Venezuela to investigate the truth. Only the second woman thinks that the assassination of the president has nothing to do with Venezuela. As far as the president is concerned, he must choose the investigation report given by the majority. In addition, there is no...

    Reality not truth!

My feelings may not be the same as many others.

From the beginning until the little girl's mother was shot, I felt that this was an inspirational film, which promoted the heroine's fearlessness and adherence to her own principles.

But until the female CIA was shot, and the previous foreshadowing on...

  • Ray Armstrong: [staring at his wife's new story] You made the top page!

  • Alan Burnside: [In front of the Supreme Court] In 1972 in Branzburg v. Hayes this Court ruled against the right of reporters to withhold the names of their sources before a grand jury, and it gave the power to the Government to imprison those reporters who did. It was a 5-4 decision, close. In his dissent in Branzburg, Justice Stewart said, 'As the years pass, power of Government becomes more and more pervasive. Those in power,' he said, 'whatever their politics, want only to perpetuate it, and the people are the victims.' Well, the years have passed, and that power is pervasive. Mrs. Armstrong could have buckled to the demands of the Government; she could've abandoned her promise of confidentiality; she could've simply gone home to her family. But to do so, would mean that no source would ever speak to her again, and no source would ever speak to her newspaper again. And then tomorrow when we lock up journalists from other newspapers we'll make those publications irrelevant as well, and thus we'll make the First Amendment irrelevant. And then how will we know if a President has covered up crimes or if an army officer has condoned torture? We as a nation will no longer be able to hold those in power accountable to those whom they have power over. And what then is the nature of Government when it has no fear of accountability? We should shudder at the thought. Imprisoning journalists? That's for other countries; that's for countries who fear their citizens - not countries that cherish and protect them. Some time ago, I began to feel the personal, human pressure on Rachel Armstrong and I told her that I was there to represent her and not her principle. And it was not until I met her that I realized that with great people there's no difference between principle and the person.
