If I write a textbook for acting department, I will definitely make this film a must-see chapter. After watching this movie, I immediately understood what the "methodist" is all about. That person is your idol, looks a bit like you, looks like a big bad guy, you even have the same birthday...cross the limits of time and space to play "him", use your flesh and blood to express his soul, Use your soul to reshape his flesh and...

7/10 The behind-the-scenes story of a movie always has infinite charm; go beyond the story itself, think about the properties of the medium and the meaning of cinephile, and even...

When I watched the movie, I felt that this was Jim's peak acting work. It turned out to be so "full-hearted"...Jim and Andy are both acting masters. If they are not crazy, they will not survive. Two similar gods of comedy are in two different places. In this era, there is such a fate, which is really a good story in the film...

"Living is role-playing. We are born into various character settings when we are born. Some people will find at a certain point that he must kill that character to really live. Some people will choose to hold on tightly. That character, because he is afraid that there will be nothing but this character. But you will find that after you walk out the door, everything is waiting outside the...

Even if you choose to compromise your life, you will still face the same failure. The most difficult role to play is actually yourself. Every filming is a vacation away from reality. All performances reveal the hidden truth in the heart...Jim and Andy layer Layered doll, romantic and...

Jim Carrey's acting skills go beyond the concept of immersion. In addition to his strong empathy and memory, he even goes beyond the category of an actor. He is becoming a part of a person's life through movies, and his appearance through...

This survival instinct supported his family through hard times, but also brought traumatic experiences and extreme sensitivity and ingratiating/

I don't know Jim Carrey very well. He takes off his comedian's mask and speaks so softly and nicely. Famous comedians do tend to be self-destructive. The ultimate method school acting is really like coming back from the...

Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond quotes

  • Jim Carrey: I've stepped through the door, and the door is the realization that this, us, is Seaside. Its the dome, this is the dome. This isn't real. This is a story. There is the avatar you create, and the cadence you come up with, that is pleasing to people, and takes them away from their issues, and it makes you popular, and then at some point you have to peel it away. And, you know, it's not who you are. At some point you have to live, you know, your true man. You know Truman Show really became a prophecy for me. It is constantly reaffirming itself as a teaching almost, as a real representation of what I've gone through in my career, and what everyone goes through when they create themselves, you know, to be popular or successful. And it's not just show business. It's Wall Street, it's anywhere. You go to the office and you put a monkey suit on, and you act a certain way, say a certain thing, and lie through your teeth at times, and you do whatever you need to do to look like a winner, you know. And at some point of your life, you have to go, "I don't care what it looks like." You know, "I found the hole in the psyche and I'm going through, and I'm going to face the abyss of not knowing whether that's gonna be okay with everybody or not," you know. And at times, just like the movie, they try to drown you in the middle of that abyss. They go, "No, be the other guy. You told us you were this guy. You told us you were Andy. You told us you were Tony Clifton." You know, no one can live with that forever.

  • Jim Carrey: How far should I take this? How far would Andy take it?
