    Early Experience

    Tony Colette was born on November 1, 1972 in Blacktown, a western suburb of Sydney. She is the eldest of three children in her family. At the age of 16, she dropped out of school and went to the National Academy of Dramatic Art in Sydney. She first gained some performance experience on stage, and then appeared on the screen in "Spotswood" starring Anthony Hopkins  .

    Performing Experience

    In 1991, he entered the film world with "The New Man in the Wind" and was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Award by the Commonwealth of Australia Film Association  .
    In 1994, he won the Commonwealth of Australia Academy Award for " Muriels Wedding ". In the same year, due to his investment in acting and the need for a role in the comedy "A Wonderful Spring Festival", he gained 20 kilograms in seven weeks and won the Commonwealth of Australia Film Association's Best Actress Award. 
    In 1996, with "Lilian's Story" (Lilian's Story, 1995) won the Commonwealth of Australia Film Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. In the same year, she played the heroine's best friend Harriet in "Emma" starring Gwyneth Paltrow. This role made her name spread far beyond the Commonwealth of Australia.
    In 1997, Brian Slade’s ex-wife Mandy, who played the rock star in " Velvet Goldmine " (Velvet Goldmine), although the film itself suffered minor failures, Colette’s performance was from "Mu The best after Leel’s Wedding.
    In 1998, Tony Colette won the Artistic Achievement Award at the Cannes International Film Festival  .
