Performing Experience
Terence Stamp's Movie career started so brilliantly that it was difficult to maintain it later. He is the eldest of five children in the family. My father is a merchant captain who has been away all year round. Once watched the movie "The Three Hot Brothers" under the leadership of his mother, Gary Cooper left a deep impression on him. In 1962, at the age of 23, he starred in the film "Pretty Sailor" adapted from the works of Herman Melville, and his debut was nominated for an Oscar. In addition, he also collaborated with the performance giant Lawrence Oliver in the film " Term of Trial ". In 1965, the 26-year-old Terence Stamp starred in William Wheeler's classic film "The Collector", which was adapted from the novel of the same name by the famous writer John Fowles. Later, "Surgeon Zero 4" and "Far from the Crowd" fixed his handsome image in the film forever. He also starred in Ken Lodge's first film "Poor Cow".
He once rejected the classic playboy image of "Alfie" and recommended Michael Caine to play it. In 1968, he came to Italy and collaborated with BB, Alain Delon, and others in Fellini's film "Ecstasy", and also starred in Pasolini's "Theorem".
At the end of the seventies, he returned to the film industry and took on the role of the Hollywood commercial film "Superman". Like Marlon Brando in the film, this is considered by many people to be unwise and behavioral. He also starred in Peter Brook's "Meet the Big Shots", Stephen Freys' "Ten Years With You", Richard Franklin's "Contact", Ivan Reitman's "French Open Condor" , Michael Cimino's "Sky Fire", Oliver Stone's "Wall Street" and other films. In 1994, Terence Stamp made the most dangerous attempt of his acting career. He played a transgender person in Australian director Stephen Elliott’s "Desert" with Hugo Weaving and Guy Pierce. Appropriate performances give this film about transgender and homosexuality a fabulous and sacred color. In 1998, his starring Soderbergh film "Under the Bodhi Tree" was well received at the Cannes Movie Festival . He has also taken over many mainstream Hollywood films, including "Prequel One: Phantom Crisis", "The Red Planet" and the comedy "Project Bouffinger".
In recent years, Terence Stamp has often performed wonderfully in mainstream films, including "Boss's Daughter", "Black Angel", "Smiths" and so on. Most recently, he starred in the action films "Wanted", "Confused Detective", Tom Cruise's World War II film "Assassination of Hitler" and Kim Carey's comedy "Mr. Good".
On October 29, 2021, the starring thriller Movie " Last Night in Soho " was released.
Personal Life
Except for the performance in Movie, the name of Terence Stamp became British culture in the 1960s
A romantic symbol in life is more due to his own sentimental image. He used to date Julie Christie and BB, the most popular sexy idols in Britain and France at the time . He and Julie were also the inspiration for the song " Waterloo Sunset " by The Kinks . Later, with the shock of breaking up with supermodel Jane Sirimpton, coupled with the decline of his career, Terence Stamp rushed to India to live in seclusion for ten years.
