If childhood was not so bad, who would blindly pursue freedom
Bobby's whereabouts all but dilute the climax of the plane taking off.
Mike begins and ends by saying "History is in the mind of the narrator" which seems to imply that Bobby's travels around the world are fantasies.
Childhood is really great, childhood is really kind, childhood is really endless...

[the King grabs and pulls Bobby towards him potentially to abuse him; Shane, the family dog, growls whilst Mikey cries]
The King: [yells] What did I tell ya? What did I tell ya? Why don't you listen to me? Why don't ever listen to what I TELL YOU TO DO? GET TO BED, YOU LITTLE SON-OF-A-BITCH!
[a few minutes later, Bobby, in tears, walks into the room]
Bobby: [to Mike] We can't stay up so late anymore.
