      Spielberg is finally alive

This version of Lincoln is too tall to fit in. Born into a poor family, he seemed clumsy and overwhelmed; in front of dignitaries, he responded eloquently and wields his wrists; in front of ordinary people, he was sensitive and fragile, appearing powerless and tired. The movie still took care of...

      great

I finally understand that Mr. Lincoln is a tall, humorous, real gentleman with lofty ideals and aspirations. The movie conveys a lot of positive energy, and it is very exciting to watch. Classic lines: "I found out about the compass when I was surveying. It will point you to the direction of true...

Comparing this with Iron Maiden and his ilk is a common insult to both films. The director's skills are still there, but he is old-fashioned. A lot of things that can be filmed by the director's own ideas have been treated conservatively (don't mention the old friends of the soundtrack to me~) Independent predators like John Hawkes have all been Director Si has been included, it seems that the Midi economy still shows no signs of improving~~~4.5

It takes too much background information to understand this movie, and it also proves that this movie was really made for Americans who have studied the history of their country since childhood. It's not a great reward, but I really feel that the United States is really great step by step, from the abolition of slavery to black rights to the current gay marriage, and looking at China, a mother's official property cannot be publicized. It is really chilling. Stop cooking again.

    Lincoln quotes

    • [Giving a speech at a dedication, Lincoln stands beside the flagpole, and with great ceremony takes off his hat, removes a piece of paper from inside and unfolds it, then puts on his glasses]

Abraham Lincoln: [reading] The part assigned to me is to raise the flag which, if there be no fault in the machinery, I will do. And, when up, it shall be for the people to keep it up.

[takes off his glasses and re-folds the paper]

      Abraham Lincoln: That's my speech.

      [laughter]

    • Abraham Lincoln: [greeting a pair of visitors from Jefferson City] I heard tell once of a Jefferson City lawyer who had a parrot that would wake him each morning crying out 'today's the day the world shall end as scripture has foretold'. And one day, the lawyer shot him for the sake of peace and quiet I presume, thus fulfilling, for the bird at least, his prophecy.

      [the guests don't laugh]
