Rutger Hauer (Rutger Hauer, January 23, 1944-July 19, 2019) , was born in the Netherlands. In 1999, he was named the best Dutch actor of the century by the Dutch public.

Hal's career began in 1969, when he starred in the Dutch TV series "Flores", and it shined with his lead role in "The Pleasure of Turkey" (1973), which was released in 1999. Was named the best Dutch film of the century. After gaining international recognition with " Survival Run or Soldier of Orange " (1977) and " Spetters " (1980), he switched to filming American movies such as " Nighthawks " (1981) and " 2020 " (1982) , Starring in the latter, the self-conscious robot Roy Batty (Roy Batty).
His performance in " 2020 " led him to appear in " The Osterman Weekend " (1983), " Ladyhawke " (1985), " The Hitcher " (1986), " The Legend of the Holy Drinker " (1988) And " Blind Fury " (1989) and other films.

Born in the Netherlands, his parents are drama teachers. When he was 15 years old, he went to work on a freighter for one year. After returning to his hometown, he studied drama part-time and part-time at night school. Then he joined the touring theater troupe and started Limelight for 6 years. In 1973, under the appreciation of director Paul Verhoeven , he starred in the first Dutch movie "Turkish Carnival" in his life . The two worked together in several films until "Survival Run or Soldier of Orange" in 1977 caused a local sensation. Known as "Paul Newman of Holland".
