    Robert Stack was born in Los Angeles on January 13, 1919. The parents divorced when Stark was one year old. At the age of 3, he and his mother moved to Paris, where she learned to sing. Stark's brother James Jr. lives with their father. When Stark was about 6 years old, he and his mother returned to Los Angeles. Although he could speak fluent French, he had to learn English.
    In the 1930s, he played polo with Spencer Tracy and other Hollywood celebrities as a teenager and won the national skeet shooting championship.

    In 1939, at the age of 20, he first starred in a movie as a handsome prince in "First Love". The movie tells the story of a Cinderella. The co-star is the famous singer Edna Mae Durbin . Stark kissed on the screen for the first time and made international headlines.
