Song as old as rhyme. Scott made a Shakespeare-like film on a whim, with a beautifully crafted layout, and a good story and performance. But there is no depth, the kernel is old and nothing new has been shot. It's like the event itself stuck forty years ago, and the retro is too realistic to have anything today. Wonderful but significantly worse than its peers. Not a masterpiece.
