    Character Evaluation

The film directed by Michael R. Roskam expresses the split vividly with a gloomy tone and slow narrative. The 2014 movie "The Drop" continues Roskam’s anti-type crime film style, telling violence, but it does not use violence as a visual impact. The loss of male dignity and the decadent industrial city have become scattered but not redundant. The core theme is slightly sad behind the narrative   . Moreover, the film does not pile up cheap horror elements very superficially, but makes the whole story very smooth and natural, full of surprises   . At the same time, he is concerned about culture and group self-identity confusion, regardless of the theme of the film, or the style of the film, he is a unique director .

    The Drop quotes

    • Nadia: He killed a kid named "glory days."

Bob: Yeah. I heard that. Yeah, I heard that. Richie Whelan. And... Why?

Nadia: I don't know. He's not a big fan of "why," Eric.

    • Nadia: But you're still in the life.

Bob: Me? No. No. No, no, no. I just tend the bar.
