In this film about education itself, it is not easy to understand the limitations of education. But can a study of Greco-Roman history make one more upright? Will reading Caesar well keep boys from cheating and make politics more democratic? I am afraid that the author does not understand classics, and it is whimsical. Efforts to weed out the influence of homosexuality make the film seem cleaner, but away from the essence of education. Wonderful template, far from Browning's version, near a boy who studies history.
