    Performing Experience

    Mary Anderson was initially selected by director George Cukor to participate in the audition of Scarlett Scarlett, but the producer chose Vivian Mary Hartley to play this role. In the end, Anderson played only Scarlett Scarlett's cousin. However, this performance experience laid a solid foundation for his acting career, and later appeared in "Women" , "All This, and Heaven Too" , "Heroine Anthem" , "lifeboat" , "Wilson" and many others movie. In the 1940s, Anderson was also active on the Broadway stage. But after the 1950s, it almost faded out of the film world.

    Personal Life

    After Anderson divorced author Leonard Behrens, in 1953, she married Leon Shamory, one of Hollywood's greatest photographers. Shamory was nominated for 18 Oscars and won 4 times. , Representative works include "The Black Swan" (The Black Swan), "Cleopatra" (Cleopatra), "Planet of the Apes" (Planet of the Apes) and so on. He and Anderson stayed together for 21 years. After Shamory died in 1974, Anderson lived alone. 
    It is worth mentioning that James Anderson , Mary Anderson 's younger brother , is also a well-known western film actor. He has participated in works such as "To Kill a Mocking Bird" and "small potato;" and died in 1969.
