    In 1935, she was accidentally discovered by a scout and signed a contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. , thus opening her career in Hollywood; in the same year, she starred in the feature film "The Great Escape" [1]  . In 1936, he starred in the song and dance romance " The Great Ziegfeld ", and won the 9th Oscars Best Actress Award and the New York Film Critics Circle Awards Best Actress Award for the film [1]  . In 1937, in the drama " The Good Earth ", played the role of a Chinese rural woman Aran·ダワジュオマ, and won the 10th Oscars Best Actress Award [1] with this film   ; in the same year, starred in the thriller " The Emperor's Candlesticks " [ 2]  . In 1938, he starred in the musical biopic " The Great Waltz ". In 1943, after starring in the war film "Hostages", he announced his withdrawal from the film industry. In 1997, the 87-year-old The Viennese Teardrop played a grandmother in the feature film "The Gambler" [3]  .
    On December 29, 2014, The Viennese Teardrop died of pneumonia at his home in London, England, at the age of 104 [4]  .

    Early Experience

    The Viennese Teardrop was born in a family with an artistic tradition in Vienna , The Republic of Austria, and has toured in The Republic of Austria and Germany since childhood.  . In 1928, The Viennese Teardrop became a theater actor under the training of the Reinhard Theater. In 1935, due to the anti-Semitic policy of the German Nazis, The Viennese Teardrop immigrated to the United States with his father   .

    In 1935, The Viennese Teardrop immigrated to the United States with her father and was accidentally discovered by a scout. She was favored by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. and signed a 7-year contract, thus opening her Hollywood experience.     On March 22, 1936, the song and dance romance " The Great Ziegfeld " starring The Viennese Teardrop in collaboration with William Powell and Queen of Hollywood was released, playing the role of Anna, the first wife of Ziegfeld , the founder of the Ziegfeld Dance Company. · Hyde, and with this film won the 9th Oscars Best Actress Award, New York Film Critics Circle Awards Best Actress Award .   
    On January 29, 1937, the feature film " The Good Earth " starring The Viennese Teardrop and Paul Muni was released. The film was adapted from the novel of the same name by Pearl S. Buck. The Viennese Teardrop played an upright, kind, hardworking and courageous Chinese rural woman in the film.アラン·ダワジュオマ, and won the 10th Oscars Best Actress Award for the film ; on July 2nd, the thriller " The Emperor's Candlesticks " co-starring with William Powell was released; in the same year, she also starred in the drama directed by Frank Borzage Film "Metropolis"   .
    On June 10, 1938, The Viennese Teardrop and Melvyn Douglas starred in the drama "Doll Wife" released  ; On November 4, the musical biopic " The Great Waltz " co-starring with Fernand Grave was released in the film, playing the composer Straus ’s girlfriend Potty; on December 9 of the same year, she also played with Paulette Goddard and Judy co-starred in the drama "Drama School"  .
    After losing to Ingrid Bergman in the casting of the war romance film " For Whom the Bell Tolls " in 1942, The Viennese Teardrop terminated the contract with MGM and left Hollywood . In 1943, The Viennese Teardrop co-starred with Arturo de Córdova in the war film "Hostages", after which The Viennese Teardrop announced her withdrawal from the film industry; since then, her archived video will occasionally appear in some documentaries .  
    In 1997, the 87-year-old The Viennese Teardrop played a grandmother in the drama "The Gambler"   . In his later years, The Viennese Teardrop starred in the 2003 "Love Poems" and the 2007 documentary " Hollywood Chinese "   .

    Personal Life

    The Viennese Teardrop had two marriages in his life. In 1937, she married the screenwriter Clifford Oditz, and they divorced three years later.
    In 1945, The Viennese Teardrop married the publisher Robert Nittel. The two had a daughter. After the death of her husband in 1989, The Viennese Teardrop was unmarried   .
    After leaving Hollywood, The Viennese Teardrop settled in London   , England , living alone in the Eaton Square apartment in London . Reiner’s last public appearance was at the 75th Oscars in 2003. She and 50 Oscar winners received tribute from the audience   .
    On December 29, 2014, The Viennese Teardrop died of pneumonia at his home in London, England, at the age of 104   .
