Outside the Three Realms, among the Five Elements, are you alone?
The original meaning of "being alone" means that in a dirty environment, you can still stick to yourself without being damaged by the outside world. Within the system, it is obviously impossible for such a "self-isolation" to exist. Otherwise, why would there be so many scandals exposed to each...

Mephisto, 2017
The film "Mephisto, 2017"
vividly
shows the fragility of an actor. Hoffgen was a simple, even ambitious and virtuous man, but the times turned him into a complex man. In terms of characterization, I think it is even on the same level as Louis Mahler's "Lacombe Lucien".

The most outstanding part of this film, like the movie Capote, lies in the shaping of the character of the protagonist of the story - he is very talented, but at the same time he cares about interests. As shown in the film, on the one hand, he loves art and hopes that art can express Unrestricted in form, he hated the Nazis turning art into a tool of political propaganda. On the other hand, he longed for the fame and recognition brought by success, so he had to compromise, cooperate with the Nazis, put art on shackles, and flattered the Nazis; It's bad, he betrays the person who had quarreled with him, but he is not that bad, otherwise he would not use the relationship to discuss with the Prime Minister of Prussia again and again to save his friend from the Nazis. On the one hand, he was reluctant to get involved in politics, and on the other hand, he had to succumb to politics. It is the coexistence of these complex and seemingly opposing personalities in this character that makes him so chewable, and makes the story of the character's slow unfolding throughout the film even more evocative. I personally prefer this one over the other, also the best foreign language film at the Oscars.
