His son Michael inherited the mantle and became a superstar.
While other stars are still serving as director puppets contentedly, Michael Douglas has established a production company, starred in his own movies, and has gradually grown. The magnificent epic films " Bound for Glory " and " Spartacus " are both products of Michael Douglas Production Company.
" Bound for Glory " is one of the best films of Michael Douglas, and it is also the famous work of the famous director Stanley Kubrick , which established his position as a new generation of film directors at the end of World War II. That year, 29-year-old director Stanley Kubrick had the first opportunity to direct a film featuring famous actors such as Kirk Michael Douglas and Adolf Meyer.
But Michael Douglas is 12 years older than Stanley Kubrick and is already the owner of a film studio. From Michael Douglas's preference for growing themes, we can see how ambitious he is. He admires heroes and believes that he also has heroic qualities. His desire to control is so strong that most people will involuntarily succumb to his will, so his film works are often marked with obvious Michael Douglas marks. The famous " Spartacus " is an example.
The film’s original director, Anthony Mann , was dismissed by producer Michael Douglas shortly after the film began . Stanley Kubrick was invited by Michael Douglas to take over as the director of the film. Although Stanley Kubrick accepted this task, he did not have the right to fully control the film production process, nor did he have the right to edit the film according to his own intentions.
Hollywood is sometimes very cruel. Some actors have even paid the price of their lives for success. Many actors have fought against the Hollywood production system. They wanted to get rid of the fate of being used as props and vases, and wanted to change the unfair treatment, but most of them failed. Kirk Michael Douglas succeeded. He no longer obeys others, people regard him as a hero model.
After World War II, " Mccarthyism " emerged in the United States . Hollywood followed the wind, and some artists did not hesitate to make up lies in order to show their pro-government stance. However, Michael Douglas was against the government. He used Dalton Truber on the McCarthy blacklist to write " Spartacus " and insisted that Truber's name be included in the credits.
In 1956, he starred in the biographical film "Longing for Life" directed by Vincente Minnelli and George Cukor , and played the painter Vincent Willem van Gogh in the film   .
In 1960, co-starring with Laurence Olivier in the film " Spartacus ", in which he played the role of Spartacus , a gladiator   .
In 1996, for his 50 years of continuous innovation in the film industry, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awarded him the Oscars Lifetime Achievement Award  .

Jim Craig: Yep, that's how it can be up here. But, uh, if it was easy to get to know it, there'd be no challenge. You've got to treat the mountains like a high-spirited horse; never take them for granted.

Jessica Harrison: It's the same with people, too.
