After reading the novel, I really wanted to watch the film, but I was disappointed. The temptation, passion, hazy, restraint, and brokenness in my imagination were gone. It would be great if Gwyneth played the Victorian one.

Quite an interesting story. Well-chosen. In particular, Jennifer Ehle and Jeremy Northam often played ancient ladies and gentlemen, and the temperament was in line with that era. Rating: 8 out of 10
