    Character Evaluation

Taymor likes to focus his movie lens on the fate of legendary women   . Her films have a distinct personal style and have the characteristics of "magic realism films". While taking the theme of realism as the core of the film, it also integrates various art forms into the form of the film. Not only the stage position in the drama, the highly decorative scene design, etc., are often borrowed into the film, extremely High-impact animation and special effects also enhance the magical effect. As a female director, Taymor naturally expresses his concern for female self-awareness. First of all, in her films, there are often multiple female images. In the movies "Across the Universe" and "Frida", there are more than three distinct female characters, which are impressive. This is not only the need of the plot, but more importantly, Taymor jumps out of the traditional Hollywood model of a single perfect heroine and presents the audience with a more complex and diverse state of female living .

But, of course, she made me come down to her, and I did, and I've never stopped looking. But I want to speak about Frida not as her husband, but as an artist. I admire her. Her work is acid and tender... hard as steel... and fine as a butterfly's wing. Loveable as a smile... cruel as... the bitterness of life. I don't believe... that ever before has a women put such agonized poetry on canvas.
