    During her 45-year singing career, Garland became an international star with her musical theatrical roles and performances on the musical stage. For her versatility, she has been awarded the Academy Award for Best Young Actor, the Golden Globe Awards , the Cecil B. DeMille Award, the Grammy Awards and the Antoinette Perry Award for Excellence in Theatre . Her vocal range is Contralto . Died on June 22, 1969, at his Chelsea residence in London, England.
    In 1999, she was voted No. 8 in " The Greatest Actress in a Hundred Years" by the American Film Institute.
