In 1992, he graduated from Bexley High School. He then entered Kenyon College to study and won the Paul Newman Award from the Drama Club during his time at school. In the spring of 1995, he studied theater for one semester at the National Theater Research Center in Watford. In 1996, Josh Radnor graduated with a bachelor's degree in drama from Kenyon College. In 1999, he graduated with a Master of Arts from the Tisk School of Art, New York University   .
