Jack Palance
Jack Palance (Jack Palance, February 18, 1919—November 10, 2006) was born in Laattimer Mines, Pennsylvania in February 1919. Boxe's career went smoothly at first, winning the first 15 games. Later, he began to decline and was defeated by opponents 12 times. On December 17, 1940, in a fierce battle with the later heavyweight Joe Baksi, Palance lost the decisive fourth round.
With the outbreak of World War II , he terminated Boxe's career and enlisted in the army. He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal and the World War II Victory Medal for his bravery and glorious injuries in the battle . After the war, he entered Leland Stanford Junior University and received a bachelor's degree in drama in 1949.
