She taught foreign languages and English in American public schools in Texas for 27 years. She unexpectedly became an actress when she was quite old. What really allowed her to gain weight status in the film world was the clumsy performance in the movie last night, when she was already thirty-six years old. In 2004, Hall and Tom Hanks co-starred in the comedy "The Ladykillers", which was very popular, and she herself was considered by fans to be the most outstanding actress who deserved the Golden Globe and Oscar awards.
