It can be classic if you don’t understand it (explain)

One of the advantages of traditional Hollywood movies should be easy to understand (at least in terms of plot), it is the so-called Closure. The Big Sleep is a different kind of a different kind, especially for a detective film. As for the reasons for the incomprehension, it is generally blamed on...

      Detective Bogart

Did the previous detective films look like this? At first you thought it was such a case, and then you kept deviating from the track during the investigation. By the way, it has completely become another matter. When the finale comes, you may not remember the origin of the earliest case. I...

The original novel is Raymond Chandler, and the adapted screenplay is William Faulkner. The case is like a series, the speed of speech, the complexity of the relationship between the characters, the violence of the scene, and the ambiguous emotions are all difficult to surpass. If you don't watch it again, it's impossible to tell how many houses Detective Marlowe broke into, how many murders he witnessed, and how many shots he fired. And the humor and sarcasm of the lines are too great. You could only die once even for a couple of murders.

Love Lauren Bacall's style. Dialogue is excellent. The original author does not know who the murderer is, it is more confusing without subtitles = =

    The Big Sleep quotes

    • Philip Marlowe: My, my, my! Such a lot of guns around town and so few brains! You know, you're the second guy I've met today that seems to think a gat in the hand means the world by the tail.

    • Vivian: Why did you have to go on?

Marlowe: Too many people told me to stop.
