The adaptation failed too much... I wonder if the author of the original novel will be angry when he sees such a movie adaptation two years after writing the novel... Although it can well represent the environmental background of that era, the plot is completely American-style development (emphasis on sexuality) makes people speechless, and the male protagonist's acting skills are irreparable... It completely loses the depth of the original work, and it is much worse than the musical. Very disappointed
