  • Diana Douglas, born in Bermuda, England in 1923, was the first wife of the legendary American movie star Kirk Douglas. In 2003, the Douglas family had collaborated on the film " It Runs in the Family ".

    Performing Experience

    Diana made her first screen appearance in 1942, starring in "Flamme de la Liberté" with Spencer Tracy and Katharine Houghton Hepburn . After that, she returned to New York from California and starred in some movies. In 1983 and 1987, she and her son Michael Douglas co-starred in "Underground Jury" and "Travel and Adventure" respectively . Diana's TV works include: "Our Days" , "The West Wing" , "Cowboys", "San Francisco Scenery", "The Watson Family", "ER" and so on. She has also performed on Broadway.
    In 2003, the Douglas family collaborated in the film "It Runs in the Family" , which tells the story of a typical successful New York family-the Grombergs family. Diana plays the conscientious housewife Evelyn in the film, Kirk plays her husband, and Michael is both the son of the film and the producer of the film. Michael's son Cameron plays Asher, his grandson who is in a rebellious period. Joel also appeared as a co-producer of the film. "It Runs in the Family" became Diana's movie swan song. 

    Personal Life

    Diana was born in Bermuda, England in 1923. Her father was the British Attorney General. As an adult, she left home and went to New York to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts , where she met her husband, the legendary American movie star Kirk Douglas . The two married in 1943, but this marriage only lasted eight years, so they died unfortunately in 1951. They have two sons, Michael Douglas and Joel Douglas. In 1956, Diana Douglas married Broadway producer Bill Dared. In 1992, Bill died in a car accident. In 2002, she married Donald Webster, who was an official in the Treasury Department in the Nixon administration.
