The film has raised many topics, the awakening of female consciousness, resistance to family patriarchy, apartheid, and lesbianism. Every topic is very dramatic, but these are only touched slightly in the film, lacking in-depth analysis. But at least a window into South Africa has been opened. The heroine is beautiful.
