desire to survive
Luckily, I lay on a sand bed at a depth of 280 meters before sinking to the bottom
(The submarine normally travels 150 meters deep, and it is very dangerous if it exceeds 220 meters, and the bolts will be squeezed out by huge pressure)
Only then will there be a chance to return to the surface and...

Probably the best submarine movie
It's best to read this before watching "Hunting U-571", otherwise it will feel very boring and useless.

The version I watched for Mao only took 149 minutes. The first half is quite scattered, just some simple descriptions of submarine life. The tension, despair and rebirth in the second half, connected to the last invincible irony, make this the greatest submarine movie. The film is from a German perspective, but the audience has long forgotten which camp these innocent soldiers belonged to. Hope for everlasting peace.

【A-】Director's Cut. What a war movie this is, this is an excellent psychological thriller at all. This is the first time I watched a World War II film from a German perspective. Without the main theme output of the United States, without the madness of France against Germany, it is more real. Many places are more like "Dunkirk", the enemy never shows up, but it is everywhere; the oppressive environment, the small space, although the diver seems to have the protection of the submarine, it is safer than charging; but in fact, more of torture. Suffocated and tormented, an excellent underwater group portrait. The ending is simply a stroke of genius, and there is a sense of helplessness in fatalism.
