I have watched too few of Chaplin's films. Today, I watched "The Gold Rush" and "Mr. Verdus", which are rich and profound. I've placed him above Woody Allen, Spielberg, Coppola, and can be in the first rank with Orwell, Kurosawa, Bergman, and David Lynn.
