      "Mystic River": Lucky and Unlucky

When I saw Jamie smiling at the police friend at the end, I marveled at Jamie's self-healing ability. He lost his daughter who gave him the motivation for life, and killed his childhood friend by mistake in order to avenge his daughter. After all this happened, he could still laugh. I think the...

Personal Analysis of the Movie Mystic River

Clint Eastwood is one of my favorite directors. But the ending of my work is really sad. Jimmy is an undisputed murderer, and Sean knows this, he chose to cover him because of the friendship between the two, and his behavior proved to be a very irresponsible policeman. The dialogue between Jimmy...

The script is too bad. The first half uses all the details to point to the past, forcibly implying the audience, and distorting the reality of the lines. In the second half, new low-level clues were thrown out to insult the police's ability to handle cases. Mystic River quotes

    • [last lines]

Annabeth Markum: Their daddy's a king. And a king knows what to do and *does* it. Even when it's hard. And their daddy will do whatever he has to for those he loves. Katie would like that.

    • [at the crime scene, Sean finds Jimmy screaming and being held by several police officers]

Jimmy: Is my daughter in there? Is she in there? Is she in there?

Sean Devine: [Officer Devine approaches the melee] Hey! Hey, take it easy! That's the father.

Jimmy: Is my daughter in there?

      [fighting the officers]

Jimmy: Motherfuckers! Is that my daughter in there? Is she in there?

      [Sean gives a small nod]

Jimmy: Sean! Is that my daughter in there? Is that my daughter in there? No! No! No! No, aagggh, no! No! Oh, God! Oh, God! No!

[as Jimmy looks up at the heavens, we get a bird's or helicopter's eye view of him raving among a dark blue sea of police officers struggling to hold him]
