  • Barkhad Abdi, actor, born and raised in Somalia, moved to the United States with his family when he was 14 years old. "Captain Phillips" is Abdi's first contact with movies. In 2013, he played Somali pirates in the movie " Captain Phillips " and won the 86th Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for this film.
