Barbet Schroeder

On August 26, 1941, Tehran, Iran. Both his parents are German, and he grew up in the United States and France. He first majored in philosophy at the Sorbonne University in Paris and then engaged in photography in India. In 1958, he began to write film reviews for the French magazine Cahiers du cinéma  .

In 1963, as Jean-Luc Godard 's assistant , he participated in the filming of the film "Gunner" and played a small role in the film. At the age of 23, Barbet Schroeder founded his own production company "Les Films du losange" and produced a series of new wave movies.

In 1969, Barbet Schroeder released his directorial debut " More "   . In the following three years, Scrod produced several documentaries about New Guinea.

In 1972, he directed the hippie-style movie " The Valley ".

In 1974, he filmed the documentary " No One Can Run Faster " describing the dictatorship of Ugandan tyrant Idi Amin ; after that, Barbet Schroeder directed the sexually perverted film "Mistress", which was produced by Gerard Depardieu Co- starring with Marie-France Thielland , it caused a lot of controversy with a large number of women's sexual abuse scenes of men.

1987, directed his first film in Hollywood " Barfly ", Directed by Mickey Rourke and Dunaway Dorothy Faye starred   , won the 40th Cannes International Film Festival main competition - Golden Palm Award nomination   .

In 1990, Barbet Schroeder directed the movie " Reversal of Fortune ", which won an Oscar for Best Director and Best Adaptation nomination. Subsequently, he filmed many films such as " Kiss of death ", "Heaven Tribulation" and "Desperate Point Confrontation"   .

In 2000, he put the controversial work " Our Lady Of The Assassins " by Colombian writer Fernando Vagero on the big screen. The film was nominated for the Golden Lion Award at the Venice International Film Festival and was awarded the President of the Italian Senate Gold Medal. It is worth mentioning that Barbet Schroeder also played the president of France in the science fiction film " Mars Attacks! " directed by Tim Burton .

Barbet Schroeder belongs to the generation of French New Wave movies. The viewpoint of "The Virgin of the Killer" is different from that of "Drug Network" and other films. He did not focus on describing the circulation and transaction process of drugs. Instead, he went out of the United States and returned to the birthplace of the problem. How did a city where drugs are a lifeline turned into a hell on earth? He gave full play to the role of sound, and through those noisy, new human sounds seemed to clearly announce the death of the old culture, and Medellin was just a metaphor.
