The 201011 Japanese version of "Strange Tales from a Liaozhai" has a slower pace and presents traditional Japanese music, painting, religion and some cultural details. "Black Hair" is the beginning of the sad and scary "Snow Girl". It is beautiful, and one of my favorite stories is "Earless". Fang Yi is a bit long, but the final climax is also pretty good, especially the whole body is full of scriptures. It should be regarded as a classic scene in film history. "Teawan" is not a complete story, and the open ending is good.
